Foundin is an interactive, city art installation of tiny figurines placed in public spaces to be found by people like you and me.

The heart of the project is the online count of "Found" figurines, which hopefully inspires a growing audience to head out and actively explore the city in detail; to notice art in a different scale and perspective.

The figurines disrupt one's preoccupation in the metropolis and ask city dwellers to be more aware of their surroundings.
All figurines in Foundin are individuals seeking to be found in one way or another, just like every one of us.
How Foundin works
Joining real and virtual worlds as figurines are placed in cities, audiences can either participate as an Adopter, Finder or as a viewer surveying the website, to track the progress of all the figurines.
Before the installation, an Adopter (anyone in the world!) chooses a figurine online and tells Foundin what he/she is waiting for in life.
All figurines are then placed in public spaces.
When a figurine is found, the Finder can keep the figurine. Using the unique URL or QR code printed on the figurine card, the Finder gets to read and reply the message left by the Adopter. The Finder also can contact the Adopter by email, if he/she wants to be in touch.
Summarised on Foundin.org, all figurines are updated "live", whether they are "Found", "Lost" or "Waiting".
TAN WEI KEONG
Artist

Wei Keong's animated short films White and Hush Baby, garnered the Special Achievement and Special Mention awards respectively at the Singapore International Film Festival in 2007 and 2009.

SAMUEL WOO
PRODUCER

To overcome his tendency for paranoia, Samuel turns to imagination to create stories, often through photography, illustration and writing. The need to dispel his fears has transformed into creative skills and thought processes he now practises on a daily basis, mostly evident from his Instagram @fakevampire.

In real life, he is human and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, two certificates in Product and Graphic Design, and an impossible addiction to making things pretty in strange ways. All because he believes #yolo.

RYAN TAN
TECHNICAL DIRECTOR

Ryan is an autodidact with a passion for creating. He has been developing applications professionally for the last decade and his Bachelor of Fine Arts drives him to derive satisfaction uniting technology with art and design. He headed games and television production at a local startup in his university years and co-created the Angel’s Gate television series - the first Singapore-made television format exported overseas.

He now runs Red Airship, a digital consultancy specialising in mobile and web product development, and manages the Animators in Singapore group in his free time.

Conceptualised in Tokyo, Foundin officially started out in 2014 from Singapore, a tiny little dot in South-east Asia. Like her people, it has always loved travelling and especially as a city installation, Foundin endeavours to explore different countries and bring its little joys to their people.
